Why I started Youth MedPrint
I have always loved sports. To me they were more than a hobby — they taught me to challenge myself, find accomplishment, and believe in my own abilities. But when I learned about children undergoing cancer treatment, I realized for the first time that experiences I had taken for granted were not accessible to everyone.
At first I thought simply making and giving something would be enough. But as I understood their situation more deeply, I saw the problem was not just a lack of resources — what they were missing was the feeling of being supported, and the chance to see themselves in a positive light during treatment.
That realization led me to 3D printing: a technology that creates personalized solutions, designed for each individual’s needs. Just as medals in sports symbolize effort, I wanted to recognize these children’s strength — so I created “Courage Medals” and personalized keychains. When a child smiled and thanked me, I understood that even a small object can become a source of great strength.
I no longer see technology as just a tool for making things. I see it as a way to make someone’s life a little better.
